CVE-2024-27981Network attack vector

Root privilege escalation via command injection

Published Apr 4, 2024 · Updated Mar 18, 2025

Command injection in Ubiquiti UniFi Network Application 8.0.28 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to gain root access. Ubiquiti has not disclosed the vulnerable request, parameter, or command-construction locus that passes attacker-controlled input to the Linux host shell. Reachability requires UniFi Network Application Administrator credentials on a self-hosted Linux server, and successful exploitation grants root control of that host.
