File deletion via unvalidated service paths
Published Apr 19, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Path traversal in Ivanti Avalanche before 6.4.3 allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary files through the web component. WLAvalancheService on TCP port 1777 uses a user-supplied path in file operations without properly validating that the path remains restricted. A valid account is required, and successful exploitation deletes files with SYSTEM privileges, which can interrupt Avalanche services.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
