CVE-2024-27976Network attack vector

SYSTEM command execution via path traversal

Published Apr 19, 2024 · Updated Dec 16, 2025

Path traversal in the web component of Ivanti Avalanche before 6.4.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands as SYSTEM. WLAvalancheService, which listens on TCP port 1777 by default, uses a user-supplied path in file operations without validating that it remains within an authorized directory. An authenticated network session can therefore reach file operations that culminate in command execution with the service's SYSTEM privileges.
