CVE-2024-27939Network attack vector

System-privilege code execution via unauthenticated file upload

Published May 14, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Missing authorization in Siemens RUGGEDCOM CROSSBOW before 5.5 allows remote attackers to execute code with system privileges via file upload. The server application accepts arbitrary files from unauthenticated users and writes them to its file system; Siemens has not disclosed the upload endpoint or path handling. Network access to the upload interface is sufficient, and successful exploitation permits system-level code execution and full compromise of the application host.
