CVE-2024-27852Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Cross-site tracking via reusable marketplace client ID

Published May 13, 2024 · Updated Apr 2, 2026

Privacy exposure in MarketplaceKit in Apple iOS and iPadOS before 17.5 allows remote attackers to track users across websites. MarketplaceKit reuses a device-, account-, and marketplace-specific client_id when different sites invoke the same marketplace installation URI, then sends it to that marketplace's token endpoint. Exploitation requires an EU iPhone, an Apple-authorized marketplace and browser, and a user tap; it reveals linkable browsing activity without installing an app.
