User fingerprinting via ineffective noise injection

Fingerprinting in Apple WebKit before Safari 17.5 and related platform updates allows remote attackers to identify users via crafted webpages. The noise injection algorithm does not sufficiently obscure webpage-observable measurements, allowing a crafted page to derive a browser fingerprint. A user must load the page; the result is cross-site identification rather than direct access to stored data, and Apple has not disclosed the measured inputs.
