Privacy-control bypass in Apple Sync Services allows local apps on affected iOS, iPadOS, and macOS releases to bypass Privacy preferences. Affected branches are before iOS and iPadOS 16.7.8 or 17.5 and before macOS 12.7.5, 13.6.7, or 14.5; Apple has not disclosed which Sync Services check handles permissions incorrectly. Local app execution is required; successful exploitation defeats configured privacy controls, while the specific protected resources remain undisclosed.
