Arbitrary file disclosure via Finder state confusion
Published May 13, 2024 · Updated Apr 2, 2026
Path traversal in Finder in Apple macOS Ventura before 13.6.7 and Sonoma before 14.5 allows local users to read arbitrary files. Apple identifies defective Finder state management but has not published the state transition or pathname operation that exposes files. Execution of an app on the Mac is required, and the reported consequence is file disclosure without integrity or availability impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
