Sandbox escape and elevated code execution
Published May 13, 2024 · Updated Apr 2, 2026
Sandbox escape in PrintCenter in Apple macOS before 14.5 allows local users to execute code outside an app sandbox or with elevated privileges. Apple states only that improved checks resolved the issue and has not disclosed the affected PrintCenter operation or the input those checks mishandled. A locally running app is required; successful exploitation crosses a sandbox boundary or executes code with privileges unavailable to that app.
