Use-after-free in Foundation on affected Apple operating systems allows local users to elevate privileges through a malicious app and NSXPC. The low-level NSXPC implementation accesses freed memory while decoding crafted XPC messages containing serialized object data. Local app execution is required; the published proof of concept targets system XPC services, and CertiK demonstrated access to third-party app data.
