Client command execution via unsanitized CSV formulas
Published Jul 9, 2024 · Updated Jan 9, 2026
CSV formula injection in the device inventory export in Fortinet FortiAIOps 2.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands. The GUI writes attacker-supplied spreadsheet formulas into exported CSV reports without neutralizing formula-leading characters. Execution occurs on a client's workstation only after a user opens the poisoned report in a formula-capable spreadsheet application.
