CVE-2024-27758Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Remote code execution via unchecked netref unpickling

Published Mar 12, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Remote code execution in RPyC 4.0.0 through 5.3.1 allows remote authenticated users to run Python code through a crafted netref. NetrefClass.array passes a HANDLE_PICKLE response directly to pickle.loads without enforcing the server-side allow_pickle setting. Exploitation requires an exposed server method that invokes array on a client-provided netref; successful deserialization executes code in the server process.
