Unauthenticated privilege escalation via unchecked manager requests
Published May 18, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in Fluent Forms 5.1.16 and earlier allows remote attackers to grant plugin-manager permissions through its REST API. The managers endpoint relies on RoleManagerPolicy but accepts manager-setting requests without verifying a required WordPress capability. No account or user interaction is required; successful requests expose every plugin setting and feature or delete existing manager accounts.
