CVE-2024-27656Public exploit

Unauthenticated router crash via oversized Cookie

Published Feb 29, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in D-Link DIR-823G firmware 1.0.2B05 allows remote attackers to crash the router via a crafted Cookie. The sub_41D354 function processes the Cookie parameter beyond a stack-buffer boundary, corrupting adjacent memory. Adjacent-network access without authentication is sufficient; the demonstrated consequence is a device crash, while reported code execution remains unverified.
