Stored XSS via unescaped custom attributes
Published Jun 13, 2024 · Updated Oct 30, 2024
Stored XSS in FooPlugins FooGallery before 2.4.15 allows remote authenticated users with Author access to execute scripts in viewers' browsers. The Advanced Gallery Settings Custom Attributes field accepts event-handler markup and emits it as image attributes without validation or output escaping. An Author must save a crafted attribute in a gallery, and the script runs when a higher-privileged user opens a page containing that gallery and moves the pointer over its image.
