CVE-2024-27619Public exploit

Authenticated reboot via RAM-backed FTP uploads

Published Mar 29, 2024 · Updated Jul 9, 2026

Resource exhaustion in D-Link DIR-3040 1.20b03a allows remote authenticated users to crash and reboot the router through FTP uploads. The FTP service lets a read/write account change above the USB share into the root directory, then stores uploaded data in RAM without enforcing available-memory bounds. A file larger than free memory exhausts system resources, producing a service interruption that ends in a router crash and reboot.
