Stored XSS via unescaped postTitleTag attribute
Published Apr 19, 2024 · Updated Aug 1, 2024
Stored XSS in WP Engine Genesis Blocks before 3.1.3 allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through a Post Grid block. The Post Grid block renders the user-controlled postTitleTag attribute as an HTML tag name without sufficient sanitization or output escaping. Contributor access is required to save the crafted block in a post, and the script executes in a visitor's browser when the post is viewed or previewed.
