Service interruption via unreleased memory-import strings
Published Nov 8, 2024 · Updated Nov 18, 2024
Memory leak in Read_utf8 in Wasm3 139076a allows attackers to consume memory by supplying a malformed WebAssembly module. Read_utf8 allocates UTF-8 strings for a module's memory import, but m3_FreeModule omits FreeImportInfo for memoryImport during teardown. The supplied module must reach the runtime; the demonstrated malformed input triggers a parsing underrun and leaks 11 bytes across two allocations.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
