Session script execution via filename innerHTML assignment
Published Nov 1, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2024
Self-XSS in Chamilo LMS 1.11.26 allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript through a crafted filename in home.php. The social-network file picker assigns the browser-supplied filename to an element's innerHTML property instead of treating it as text. Exploitation requires a low-privileged user to select the maliciously named file and interact with home.php; the script runs only in that user's browser session.
