Privilege escalation via unsanitized attachment filename
Published Nov 1, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in Chamilo LMS 1.11.26 allows remote authenticated users to run script in another user’s browser via a ticket attachment. TicketManager::get_ticket_detail_by_id reads a stored attachment filename and inserts it directly into an HTML link without XSS filtering. A user with ticket-creation access must upload a crafted filename, and the script runs when another user views the ticket, enabling actions in that viewer’s session.
