CVE-2024-27518Public exploit

SYSTEM code execution via redirected quarantine restore

Published Apr 29, 2024 · Updated Aug 22, 2024

Local privilege escalation in SUPERAntiSpyware Professional X 10.0.1262 and 10.0.1264 allows local users to gain SYSTEM privileges. The quarantine restore follows an attacker-created NTFS directory junction and writes a crafted version.dll into the program directory, where SASCore64.exe loads it after restart. Exploitation requires local access to stage a detected DLL, redirect the quarantine path, restore the file, and reboot; successful execution runs as NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM.
