Owner-account creation via missing CSRF validation
Published Apr 10, 2024 · Updated Aug 21, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Leantime 3.0.6 allows remote attackers to create an Owner account by luring an administrator to a malicious site. The NewUser controller accepts attacker-chosen account and role fields and creates the invitation without validating a CSRF token. An authenticated Owner or Administrator must interact with attacker-controlled content; success grants control of the Leantime instance.
