Kernel availability loss via undersized address allocation

Memory corruption in affected Linux kernel releases allows local users to interrupt service through the EFI capsule loader. The efi_capsule_open function allocates cap_info->phys with the size of a pointer instead of phys_addr_t, leaving four bytes for an eight-byte value on 32-bit builds.
