CVE-2024-27383

Local memory corruption via unchecked scan data

Published Sep 9, 2024 · Updated Mar 18, 2025

Heap overwrite in Samsung Exynos mobile processors allows local users to corrupt memory through crafted userspace scan data. The slsi_get_scan_extra_ies() function accepts default_ies from userspace without validating the input before writing to heap memory. Exploitation requires local privileged access, and successful triggering overwrites heap memory while scan information elements are processed.
