CVE-2024-27370

Heap overwrite via unchecked discovery attribute count

Published Jun 5, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

Out-of-bounds write in Samsung Exynos 980 firmware allows local users to overwrite heap memory through a userspace Wi-Fi NAN request. The slsi_nan_config_get_nl_params() function accepts hal_req->num_config_discovery_attr without validating the count before it controls discovery-attribute processing. Local access is required, and public sources describe memory corruption but no demonstrated code-execution path or remotely reachable vector.
