Stored script execution via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Mar 26, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in Themify Shortcodes 2.0.8 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through themify_post_slider attributes. The shortcode handler accepts user-supplied attributes without sufficient sanitization and renders them into page output without context-appropriate escaping. Contributor-level access is sufficient to store the payload, which executes in a visitor's browser whenever the injected page is viewed.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
