Authenticated arbitrary file creation via unchecked ZIP decompression
Published Jul 17, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Directory traversal in ManageEngine DDI Central 4001 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to create files in the application folder. The IPAM API accepts an unfiltered parameter and decompresses uploaded ZIP archives without validating their paths, permitting unauthorized file placement. Exploitation requires authenticated network access and user interaction; placed files cannot replace existing files or execute automatically.
