Stored XSS in ESPHome 2023.12.9 through 2024.2.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through the dashboard. The /edit GET handler returns attacker-written configuration content as text/html instead of a non-executable YAML media type. Exploitation requires an authenticated user to store JavaScript and a logged-in victim to open the crafted configuration, exposing session cookies and dashboard actions.
