CVE-2024-27264

Administrator code execution via unqualified library call

Published May 22, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Local privilege escalation in IBM Performance Tools 7.2 through 7.5 allows local users to execute code with administrator privilege. A Performance Tools program calls a library without qualification, allowing a user-controlled library object earlier in the search order to supply executable code. Exploitation requires local access and a prepared user-controlled library; the affected program then runs that code with administrator privilege.
