Local information disclosure via unchecked firmware target
Published Mar 11, 2024 · Updated Dec 6, 2024
Out-of-bounds read in ACPM firmware in Google Android 13 allows local users to disclose memory through a crafted target value. The fvp_set_target function in fvp.c fails to check the target value against valid bounds before reading from its backing buffer. Exploitation needs no additional execution privileges or user interaction, and the reported consequence is limited to local information disclosure.
