Open redirect via inadequate internal-URL validation
Published Aug 20, 2024 · Updated Nov 26, 2024
Open redirect in Joomla! CMS 3.4.6 through 3.10.16-elts, 4.0.0 through 4.4.6, and 5.0.0 through 5.1.2 allows remote attackers to redirect users. The core internal-URL check inadequately validates a supplied redirect URL and can misclassify an external destination as internal. Exploitation requires user interaction with an attacker-controlled request, and the resulting redirect can send the user to an untrusted site.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
