Local privilege escalation via unauthenticated WebPanel routes
Published Jun 14, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Missing authentication in Toshiba Tec e-STUDIO multifunction printers allows local users to access administrative functions through WebPanel APIs. The localhost-bound WSGI WebPanel on TCP port 50180 registers 246 routes, including device-control handlers, without enforcing authentication. Access from the printer itself is required; successful requests can change device configuration and invoke administrative functions.
