Information disclosure via world-readable core dumps
Published Jun 14, 2024 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Information disclosure in Toshiba Tec e-STUDIO MFPs allows local users to read confidential data from exposed core dumps. Core dumps in /work/log/platform/syscallerr/gdb_backtraces are world-readable and retain crashed-process memory, including scanned files, printed files, and clear-text credentials. Local access to the printer's Linux environment is required; disclosure is limited to data captured in existing crash dumps.
