Local privilege escalation in Toshiba Tec e-STUDIO multifunction printers allows local users to obtain root privileges through suidperl. The set-user-ID root binary /usr/bin/sperl5.10.1-17 runs an obsolete Perl 5.10 code set susceptible to the public PROCSUID technique. The attacker must first gain local command execution on the appliance; successful exploitation executes code as root.
