Code execution via unbounded deviceMac copy
Published Mar 20, 2024 · Updated Aug 21, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC10U 15.03.06.48 allows remote authenticated users to overwrite stack memory via deviceMac. The addWifiMacFilter handler passes the POST-supplied deviceMac value to sprintf without a length bound, copying it into a local stack buffer and permitting return-address overwrite. Reachability requires access to the management interface and low privileges; return-address control can crash the router or execute code in the handler context.
