CVE-2024-27101Network attack vector

Permission denial and server crash via chunk overflow

Published Mar 1, 2024 · Updated Apr 16, 2025

Integer overflow in SpiceDB before 1.29.2 allows remote authenticated users to deny permissions or crash the server through wide relations. ForEachChunkUntil truncates the relationship-slice length and chunk indexes to 16 bits, causing wraparound and incomplete or invalid dispatch chunks. Exploitation requires more than 65,535 same-type relationships for one resource and affects CheckPermission, BulkCheckPermission, and LookupSubjects.
