Kernel crash via unlocked Nouveau object tree

Race condition in the Linux kernel Nouveau driver 4.3 through 6.8-rc6 allows local users to crash the kernel through concurrent object operations. The per-client object tree lacks locking while client objects, especially VRAM BAR mappings, are added, removed, and searched, permitting nvkm_object_search to dereference an invalid noncanonical pointer. A low-privilege local process must exercise the Nouveau GPU mapping path; the demonstrated consequence is a general protection fault and system service interruption.
