Authenticated code execution via unbounded index formatting
Published Mar 20, 2024 · Updated Aug 21, 2024
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda AC10U firmware 15.03.06.49 allows remote authenticated users to execute code via a crafted WPS request. The formWifiWpsStart handler passes the POST index parameter directly to sprintf into a stack-local buffer, allowing it to overwrite the function return address. Access to the router's management interface and low-privilege authentication are required; successful exploitation can take control of the appliance.
