File corruption via misaccounted compressed writeback

Checkpoint persistence failure in affected Linux kernels allows local users to corrupt compressed F2FS file data after sudden power loss. The compressed write-end path decrements ordinary writeback accounting instead of checkpoint-guaranteed accounting, so checkpoint completion can precede persistence of compressed pages. Reachability requires write access to a compression-enabled file on an F2FS volume and a sudden power-off/recovery cycle; the bounded result is persistent file-data corruption.
