Kernel crash via truncated PPPoE header

Out-of-bounds read in Linux kernel 5.13 and later allows attackers to crash the kernel via truncated PPPoE session frames. The netfilter ingress flowtable path reads the PPPoE protocol field before confirming that the packet buffer contains the complete header. The frame must reach a flowtable-bound interface from the same Layer 2 segment; the read can panic or fault the kernel and otherwise yields only a limited two-byte comparison oracle.
