Kernel memory disclosure and crash via invalid inode

Out-of-bounds read in Linux Squashfs allows local users to disclose kernel memory or crash the system through a malformed filesystem. fill_meta_index() invalidates an incomplete metadata index by setting its inode number to zero, but locate_meta_index() later matches it to an unvalidated zero-numbered inode and reads beyond the unfilled index. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and a crafted Squashfs inode that reaches the kernel parser; no integrity impact is reported.
