CVE-2024-26969

Kernel out-of-bounds access via unterminated frequency tables

Published May 1, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2026

Out-of-bounds access in the Linux kernel allows local users to read past Qualcomm IPQ8074 clock-frequency tables. The ftbl_pcie_aux_clk_src and ftbl_sdcc_ice_core_clk_src arrays omit empty sentinels, so qcom_find_freq() and qcom_find_freq_floor() traverse beyond their bounds. Reachability requires local low-privilege access and the IPQ8074 clock driver; the record documents no runtime reproduction because the fix was only compile tested.
