Kernel data compromise via unterminated frequency tables
Published May 1, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2026
Out-of-bounds access in the Linux IPQ9574 clock driver allows local users to compromise kernel data through frequency lookup. Several arrays in drivers/clk/qcom/gcc-ipq9574.c omit the empty sentinel expected by qcom_find_freq() and qcom_find_freq_floor(), so traversal continues past their bounds. Reachability requires local low-privileged access on a system using the Qualcomm IPQ9574 clock driver; consequences include kernel-data disclosure, integrity loss, and a system crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
