CVE-2024-26966

Kernel-data disclosure and crashes via unterminated frequency tables

Published May 1, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2026

Out-of-bounds access in affected Linux kernel branches allows local users to disclose kernel data or crash APQ8084-based systems. The mmcc-apq8084 frequency tables lack terminating empty entries, so qcom_find_freq() and qcom_find_freq_floor() walk into adjacent kernel data when a requested rate exceeds the last table entry. Access to camera, display, or debugfs interfaces is required; a crafted local rate request can expose kernel pointers, misprogram multimedia clocks, hang the subsystem, or trigger a divide-by-zero kernel oops.
