CVE-2024-26914

Kernel memory corruption via undersized plane array

Published Apr 17, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2026

An out-of-bounds write in Linux 4.15 through 6.7.5 and 6.8-rc1 through 6.8-rc2 allows local users to corrupt kernel memory. The AMD display driver's pipe_slice_table allocates mpc_combine for three per-stream surfaces but appends per-ASIC plane pointers when four planes span two display controllers. Access to the DRM atomic modeset ioctl and an affected DCN3.2 or DCN3.2.1 device is required; exploitation can disclose or overwrite kernel memory or panic the system.
