Kernel memory exhaustion via btusb buffer leak
Published Apr 17, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026
Memory leak in Linux kernel 6.6 before 6.6.23, 6.7 before 6.7.11, and 6.8 before 6.8.2 allows local users to exhaust memory. btusb_recv_acl_mtk clones MediaTek firmware-dump socket buffers when device-coredump support is disabled, and btmtk_process_coredump does not release every buffer it receives. Low-privileged local access and compatible MediaTek Bluetooth hardware capable of producing repeated firmware-dump traffic are required; exhaustion can interrupt the host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
