CVE-2024-26877Network attack vector

System crash via BH-enabled crypto completion

Published Apr 17, 2024 · Updated Aug 5, 2026

Race condition in the Xilinx AES-GCM driver in Linux 5.7 and later allows remote attackers to crash or hang affected systems via traffic. The zynqmp_handle_aes_req path calls crypto_finalize_request with bottom halves enabled, permitting completion callbacks and NET_RX softirqs to race over kernel networking state. Exploitation requires a ZynqMP endpoint using this accelerator for inbound IPsec or another remote GCM consumer; Siemens also lists its S7-1500 TM MFP GNU/Linux subsystem as affected.
