CVE-2024-26867

Kernel crash via unassigned Comedi callback

Published Apr 17, 2024 · Updated May 11, 2026

NULL pointer dereference in Linux 6.7 through 6.7.10 allows local users to crash the kernel during Comedi 8255 initialization. __subdev_8255_init() accepts the callback chosen by the MMIO or I/O initializer but fails to store it in subdev_8255_private.io, so later code calls NULL. Reachability requires an affected 8255 card and privileged driver initialization; the reported consequence is a kernel oops and service interruption.
