Cross-user SMB access via inherited automount credentials

Credential misassignment in affected Linux kernel releases allows local users to access DFS submounts under another user’s identity. In fs/smb/client/namespace.c, automount context creation reuses a parent mount’s uid, gid, and cruid instead of setting the traversing user’s credentials. Exploitation requires a local account with access to an existing multiuser CIFS mount and permits SMB reads or writes authorized to the inherited identity.
