CVE-2024-26787

Local service interruption via leaked DMA mappings

Published Apr 4, 2024 · Updated May 12, 2026

DMA mapping cleanup failure in the STM32 MMCI driver in affected Linux kernels allows local users to interrupt service after an MMC error. On the STM32 variant, mmci_cmd_irq calls mmci_dma_error after a command error, but that path fails to call dma_unmap_sg to balance the earlier dma_map_sg mapping. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access to STM32 MMCI hardware, including the Siemens embedded subsystem, and can disrupt availability.
